Paul has more than twenty years R&D experience with major food companies such as Mars Inc, Quaker Oats (now Pepsico) in positions to European R&D Director and European Marketing Director, based in Germany. Paul can positively support clients wishing to gain maximum value from their accreditation to help grow their business and improve profitability.
After graduating Paul spent 15 years working in various roles in the food industry. Paul then joined a 3i Private Equity team creating a £50m food ingredients group in a buy and build strategy, successfully completing the sale of this business five years later
Paul then joined the United Kingdom Accreditation Service ("UKAS") as CEO. UKAS accredits all of the testing , inspection , calibration and certification bodies in the UK and many of the leading TIC sector businesses outside of the UK. During his time with UKAS Paul grew the turnover, profitability and remit of UKAS considerably , completing the acquisition of a medical organisation taking UKAS into the clinical sector covering medical laboratories, diagnostic imaging services and physiological sciences. During his time at UKAS Paul had close involvement with many of the major TIC sector companies not just in the UK but globally, given UKAS' role as one of the world's leading accreditation bodies. Paul took early retirement from UKAS in 2018 after 15 years as CEO and joined Red Swan Partners as an Advisory Board member in early 2020.
